Tinder-like adoption app dubbed Adoptly has also been taken off the Indiegogo website after it sparked controversy. The reason for the kick was not disclosed yet.

Adoptly was first kicked out of its Kickstarter page because of all the negative feedback it was receiving. The premise of the app was that parents and adoption agencies can match up by swiping right if both parties agree.

Just like Tinder, both sides would have to swipe right in order for them to move forward with the adoption. Parents can even set their preferences by distance, gender, age and race.

Adoptly's campaign on Kickstarter initially wanted $150,000 while they asked for $100,000 on Indiegogo before they got taken down again. The amount was reduced because the company reportedly closed a deal with an unnamed venture capitalist.

Alex Nawrocki, the co-founder of Adoptly, told Observer that they feel that it was unfair for Kickstarter to shoot their legitimate idea down. Nawrocki added that they were also disappointed that the KS team did not reach out to them regarding the issue.

Adoptly works by being an aggregator of the adoption agencies and the network databases that are tapped when parents try to search for a kid. Nawrocki believes that they help make the process easier than it currently is.

The Adoption Consultancy Executive Director Nicole Witt told Fox News that the Adoptly marketing campaign is already suspicious. Witt said that the cute babies in their photos can be misleading for those who are looking for candidates because not every baby may be attractive enough in the real world setting.

Adoptly also claims that it did not brand their app as the Tinder for adoption. However, the swiping method is highly similar to the dating app's mechanics.

Indiegogo has already taken down the Adoptly app without any explanation. With the app's campaign dead in the water, it may not actually come into fruition.
