While "Red Dead Redemption's" entire fandom are elated about the game's upcoming sequel, "Grand Theft Auto Online" players are quite fretful as of late about the online game's gloomy future. Rumor has it is that game developer Rockstar Games will release lesser updates for "GTA Online" to focus more on their western shooter sequel.
Game tweaks for "GTA Online" will tend to get lesser and lesser as "RDR2's" release nears. By the time "RDR2" has been released, it is speculated that the developers will eventually seize in making updates for "GTA Online."
Moreover, it was also pointed out that the "Import Export" update was supposed to be the game's final update. However, Take Two Interactive - Rockstar's parent company, still want to keep the game rolling albeit claims that the latter has already turned their backs on the said game.
"GTA Online" still is a bankable title and continues to bring in money for the company. However, developers are running out of ideas that they tend to reuse previous contents and tweak them to look like it is a different one, Yan2295 reported.
However, both Take Two and Rockstar have to comment about such claims. Until then, fans should take these with dashes of salt.
Talks are making rounds as of late about "RDR2's" release date. The sequel will be out on Oct. 20, according to U.K. online retailer GameSeek, which also posted a listing for the inbound title. However, it was previously reported that another online seller - Littlewoods, also posted a listing, though it claimed that the game will be released on Oct. 2.
Despite the difference, both stores agreed to the October release window as it was hinted in the game's teaser trailer that it will be rolled out in fall. Moreover, Take Two's earnings call will be held on Feb. 7 somewhat solidifying such claims.
The said conference call is significant for "RDR2" since it is expected that the game will be part of the itinerary of their discussion. The marketing campaign for the game has been on the move since late 2016 with numerous images and TV ads being released. Hence, game buffs believe that another teaser for the game could be dished during the Super Bowl 51 telecast that is expected to be watched by millions in the U.S. alone.
