FromSoftware officially announced "Dark Soul 3's" second and what could be the final downloadable content to hit the game - "The Ringed City." The new DLC is set to bring fans of the franchise to an eerie part of the world where new horrors await the game's protagonist.
As the name of the next expansion suggests, players will now delve themselves in the twisted looking "Ringed City" in search of the mysterious Slave Knight Gael. Albeit the scarcity of information as of late, the new DLC will bring forth new weapons, gear sets, and even towering horrors to combat.
Apart from the announcement trailer that went alongside its reveal, screenshots were also shelled out by its publisher, Bandai Namco. These snapshots from the game come with descriptions that gave players some clues on what and who to expect by the time the game segment goes live, according to VG24/7.
Now that Gael was mentioned early on, fans will also encounter a heavily armored character that calls himself "Rap." Players will come across with this mysterious warrior in a place called "Dreg Heap" which is also located inside the "Ringed City."
A massive-sized demon that dwells below the city will challenge the main character's will and might. It is said that it came out from the "Flames of Chaos," though its flames are burning out due to its exposure to poison.
There is also a so-called "Gray Giant" that is believed to have existed since the discovery of the Archdragon. It is also speculated that this being may have been under the employ of the gods as a judge.
Gigantic fat-bellied locusts also ravage the land and are said to possess huge appetites and eat everything that comes their way. Moreover, players will also get to face a behemoth decaying knight that wields a colossal sword ready to slice and dice the protagonist.
A couple of items and weapons were also teased like a pair of huge shields that can take a barrage of attacks from enemies. An Archdragon shield was also showcased that is said to be imbued with special attributes making it an essential item in every battle.
The final add-on will be rolled out on March 28 and will be available to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In addition, the segment will be priced at $15 while its season pass will be $10 more, Polygon has learned.
