It is anticipation time yet again for all the Nirvana fans, as HBO has released the first trailer of the documentary "Montage of Heck" based on Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of the band. Entertainment Weekly has remarked it to be the best film at Sundance Film Festival. It is scheduled for television premier on May 4.
Having attained breakthrough from the song "Smells like Teen Spirit" and creating a new genre altogether called "grunge", the band sold over 25 million records in the US alone. Furthermore, the documentary sheds light on Cobain's life who was disenchanted with the band's inability to draw crowds on occasions. Besides, it is also remarked that during the latter part of his life Cobain struggled with Heroin Addiction. It is also stated that Cobain was battling with his loneliness and there was nothing that was sufficient to satisfy him. The documentary however ends on a pensive note in Rome where Cobain was rumored to have tried to commit suicide for the first time, omitting the darker latter part of his life, as reported by Time.
Cobain's suicide has always been a matter of public debate following the band's status as the flagship band of Generation X. The documentary shall also feature interviews of friends and family with never been seen before pictures and a 12 minute unreleased acoustic song by Cobain. It has also been remarked that this documentary would be accompanied by a Book containing movie stills and pictures from the singer's archives, as per reports by Malaysian Digest.
This shall come as a welcome change for all Cobain fans who have been wondering for years as to what happened behind the grand curtain and what compelled their favorite singer to commit suicide in spite of having a good family life and a successful career.
