As fans wait for the upcoming AMD Vega 10 graphics cards, the company is already warming up by running a contest that will see gamers receive free cards. Players have a chance of either winning a  free Radeon graphics card or one from the new Vega 10 family.

According to the instructions on Vega's website, gaming enthusiasts are supposed to hit the "begin initiation" button to launch a questionnaire. After that, they will be presented with three questions to answer.

If at all they fail in any, the questionnaire will be presented afresh with the same questions. Completing the quizzes successively will then necessitate one to enter their details by submitting an email address or logging into Facebook.

That is not all though. Hopeful winners will have to choose a "team," which according to Digital Trends, means a choice between Team Red (AMD) and Team Green (Nvidia). For this particular competition, players will only have to choose the Red Team.

The contest started on Jan. 5 at 9 a.m. ET and will end on Feb. 5 at about the same time. The requirements include a valid Twitter or Facebook account and a single following of at least one AMD social media handle. An additional social handle is an added advantage and counts towards the possibility of winning a Vega 10 graphics card.

On moving past the Facebook/email verification, one will be presented with several more entry options, among them: join the Radeon mailing list, follow @RadeonPro, @RadeonInstinct, and @Radeon, on Twitter, as well as visit Radeon on Facebook. Finally, the participant will have the privilege of choosing a maximum of six entries in the contest.

"Residents of Cuba, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Burma/Myanmar, or other countries that are restricted for businesses based in the United States are not eligible to participate in the promotion," the rules state. The sweepstake further limits participants based on age with those under 18 years of age getting prohibited.

The drawback to the contest is that Vega-based graphics might arrive late, at about 24 weeks of time. The details as to which cards will be up for grabs are not clear as well.

In the meantime, the hype surrounding AMD's new Vega architecture continues to grow gradually as AMD loyalists wait to see Vega tackle NVidia's GeForce GTX 10 series by the throat. Here is a clip detailing AMD Vega 10 cards:
