The latest details for "Injustice 2" will features no "Gear System" in a Tournament mode and possible new information in EVO 2017.
"Mortal Kombat" creator and NetherRealm Studios producer Ed Boon teased that gamers will have a better chance of winning in a "Tournament" game mode in "Injustice 2" as the updates in the "Gear System" will not be included.
The Gear System is introduced in "Injustice 2" as players will obtain several loots every time they play the game whether they win or lose a battle. The Gear System will have players customize the looks and stats of their favorite DC characters not only changing their distinct appearances, but also increase their abilities and unlock new attacks. Many gamers were concern about this as they feel that fighting opponents with higher stats and armor will be difficult to win and they will be overpowered.
However, Boon stated that "Injustice 2" will have a tournament style game mode that will disable the equipment of each character making the sequel more fun and less hard for gamers who are competitive and novice. Boon also added that there will not be any gear sold as DLC, and that online play will allow players to choose opponents that either use or do not have any gear, PlyaStationLifeStyle reported.
Boon previously stated that "Injustice 2" will have obscure and lesser known DC characters. The first "Injustice" game covered all the high points as it relates to well-known DC characters, with the sequel diving deeper into some new characters that may not be memorable to most gamers.
There is a good chance that NetherRealm Studios will release third-party characters as DLC for "Injustice 2", two are already teased as Sub-Zero and Spawn. Overall "Injustice 2" will quite possibly have the largest roster of characters, in terms of on-disc and DLC characters.
Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios will showcase "Injustice 2" at the EVO 2017 game tournament alongside other fighting games like "Tekken 7", "Street Fighter 5","Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2", "Super Smash Bros. Wii U", "Super Smash Bros. Melee", "BlazBlue: Central Fiction" and "The King of Fighters 14", VG 24/7 reported.
It is unknown yet if NetherRealm Studios will discuss new game details and possibly new character in "Injustice 2", but gamers will likely have to find out during the event.
The roster of playable characters in the sequel include Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Blue Beetle, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Atrocitus, Aquaman, Gorilla Grodd and the recently introduced Robin.
"Injustice 2" will launch on May 16 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
