Margot Robbie is back to reprise her role as Harley Quinn in the upcoming movie, "Gotham City Sirens."
Robbie will also be executive producing the said film and will work alongside David Ayer, the "Suicide Squad" director. The filmmaker and director is back to direct and produce the film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Sirens" was a recent series from DC that focuses on the popular villains from Batman's rogue gallery. Among them was the sexy, psychotic super villain Harley Quinn. Also, the series features Catwoman, Batman's love interest and as well as Poison Ivy who uses plants and their toxins to get what she wants.
Although, Robbie expressly indicated that she would love her character Quinn and The Joker to reunite in the movie.
"I'm trying to make that happen. Not for anything specifically, but just something - there's so much more to do," Robbie says.
There were no statements hinting that either Jared Leto, who plays as The Joker, or Ben Affleck, who portrays the hero of Gotham Batman, will be featured on the film.
There has been no news yet regarding the release date of the "Gotham City Sirens."
Furthermore, Geneva Robertson-Dworet will be writing the screenplay. She is a top female writer in the action category, and has also penned the scripts for the "Tomb Raider" remake and Warner's very own "Sherlock Holmes 3."
The heads of DC's film arm Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will also be part of the film making team.
According to Mirror, Warner Bros is also working on a "Suicide Squad" sequel, and is also planning on working of a spin-off for DC's "Deadshot," who was previously played by Will Smith.
Suicide Squad was grossed to have over 745.6 million globally, surpassing the international box office of "Deadpool." It is the 13th highest-grossing superhero release.
Moreover, DC has been pretty much busy with their line-up of films. Other DC films to hit the cinemas are Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, which will be released on June 2 to be followed by Jack Snyder's "Justice League" movie on Nov. 17 and James Wan's "Aquaman," which will be released on Oct. 5, 2018.
