After announcing the upcoming Necromancer class during Blizzcon 2016, new updates have been recently released. The updates came straight from the people behind the game, shedding light to some of the details for the new paid DLC.
Lead Effects artist Julian Love and Senior Game Designer Travis Day had a 47-minute-long Q&A session along with "Diablo 3" Community Manager Brandy Camel. Before starting, Camel gave a disclaimer, saying that they will not give any details about the new update's launch date or price.
Regardless, a lot of interesting information was given, all focusing on the upcoming DLC pack. First off, the Necromancer class from "Diablo 2" was used as an inspiration for its "Diablo 3" counterpart, but lore-wise, the two will have no connection whatsoever.
The current plan is that it forgoes poison and Iron Maiden as a distinguishing feature from the Witch Doctor. Instead, it will focus on other options such as golems, as well as other melee options such as wielding two-handed scythes. The full details are revealed on the "Diablo" channel in YouTube.
In other news, Patch 2.5.0 has been added to the PTR, according to the official "Diablo 3" website. It gives players new features such as the Armory and the Crafting Mat Storage.
The Armory allows players to store five different builds per character, which can be found in each town hub. Once saved, a snapshot of the character's build will include gear, gems, active and passive skills, and cube powers.
The Crafting Mat Storage allows materials picked up or obtained through salvaging will appear in a separate storage tab, saving shared stash space. It can be accessed through the Inventory window.
Another feature in the new patch is adding the Primal Ancient roll to Legendary and Set items. According to PC Games N, with up to 30 percent better stats compared to Ancient items, the power creep in "Diablo 3" is set to continue, resulting to overpowered characters.
"Diablo 3" is now available for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Here is the video of the Q&A Session for the Necromancer class:
