ZeniMax Studios have officially unveiled "The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind," the first major expansion for the popular MMORPG. It will offer the biggest change to the game since the launch of "The One Tamriel" update.
The expansion will add the entire geographical location of Vvardenfell into the online game. Vvardenfell was the volcanic island setting for "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind." However, the expansion's story campaign will be set approximately 700 years prior to the events of "Elder Scrolls III."
"Vvardenfell utilizes the same geographic footprint as 'The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind,'" ZeniMax explained in a press release obtained by Polygon. "Including all key points of interest from the classic game. Players will embark on a dangerous journey."
It is also stated that the expansion will offer the first class addition to "Elder Scrolls Online." The new class will be referred to as the Warden and will go to battle with the aid of a powerful war bear.
The expansion will also add an official player-versus-player mode called "Battlegrounds." Players will also have the option of fighting in a three-way arena, with each team comprised of four members.
Several editions will also be made available, Game Rant reported. There will be the base game and standalone edition but there will also be a Digital Collector's Edition and a physical Collector's Edition.
The Digital Collector's Edition will cost $79.99. The package will contain the expansion and the base game, an exclusive grey War Bear for the new Warden class, an armored war horse mount, a Dwarven spider pet, a custom Morag Tong Converter, new character emotes and the Discovery Pack Pre-Order Bonus.
The Physical Collector's Edition will cost $99.99. It will contain the base game and the expansion, a 1-foot tall Dwarven Colossus statue, "Naryu's Journal" large-format book, a map of Morrowind, a metallic game case and the Discovery Pack Pre-Order Bonus.
"Morrowind" will be available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on June 6. The official announcement trailer can be viewed below:
