Here is the current status and the list of Google Nexus, Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG and Motorola smartphones that are eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat update.
Google Nexus Android 7.0 Nougat
The Android 7.0 Nougat came first to Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and supported General Mobile 4G Android One models. In December 2016, Android 7.1.1 Nougat came to these devices. Android 7.1.2 Nougat an incremental update would be coming to aforementioned devices in the near future. However, it won't be available to Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. The Pixel and Pixel XL phones were launched with Android 7.1 Nougat OS.
Samsung Android 7.0 Nougat
Apart from Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge that have started receiving Android 7.0 Nougat in mid-January, the SOtuh Korean company has confirmed that the software update would be hitting devices like Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Tab A with S-Pen, Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlocked edition), Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A8 in the first half of this year, The Verge reported.
The devices are pegged to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update in the first half of this year. Samsung is also expected to release Nougat update for 2017 and 2016 versions of Galaxy A3, A5 and A7.
Sony Android 7.0 Nougat
Sony has started Android 7.0 Nougat roll out for devices like Sony Xperia XZ, Xperia XZ Dual SIM, Xperia X Compact, Xperia X Performance, Xperia X Performance Dual SIM, Xperia X, and Xperia X Dual SIM.
Since unusual battery draining issue have surfaced after installing Android 7.0 Nougat on Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Dual, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Premium Dual, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z3+ Dual, the software update has been temporarily. The Sony Xperia XA, Xperia XA Dual SIM, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia XA Ultra Dual SIM are yet to receive Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade.
LG Android 7.0 Nougat Update
LG V20 was the first non-Nexus/Google phone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat preinstalled. In the U.S., Sprint and U.S. Cellular have released Nougat update to LG G5. T-Mobile has released Nougat update LG G Pad X 8.0 tablet. The LG V10 users also expected to get Nougat update in future.
HTC Android 7.0 Nougat
HTC is available for HTC One 10 and One M9 in multiple regions. The update is now available to HTC 10 Lifestyle and HTC One A9 in Europe. The HTC 10 Android 7.0 Nougat update has been delayed in Europe. The new HTC U Ultra and U Play have arrived preloaded with the new Android OS.
Motorola Android 7.0 Nougat
The Nougat update has begun for Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Verizon models like Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid have received the update in November 2016. Nexus 6, a Motorola device has received the update.
Fresh reports suggest that the Android N arrival has been delayed for Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Pure and Moto X Force. The update is yet to be available on Android N eligible devices such as Moto Z Play, Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2. It is officially confirmed that Moto E3 Power will not receive the update, Tech Droider reported.
Some of the phones such as Galaxy S7 have been spotted with Android 7.1.1, there is no confirmation on when Nougat 7.1.1 and Android 7.1.2 Nougat will be coming to devices other than Google Nexus.
