Sevilla is on a roll lately, winning five of their last six matches. The team is currently third in the Spanish top flight table, three points behind defending champions Barcelona and four points below league leaders Real Madrid.

Los Rojiblancos actually snapped a five-game winning streak after a stunning 1-3 loss to middling squad Espanyol on the road at the Cornellà-El Prat Stadium last Sunday, as per Goal.

Head coach Jorge Sampaoli's squad was down to ten men just two minutes into the contest after Argentine defender Nicolas Pareja was booked with a red card following a hard foul on Pablo Piatti inside the penalty area.

Espanyol midfielder Jose Antonio Reyes netted the ensuing penalty kick to open the scoring, but Sevilla striker Stevan Jovetic was able to equalize in the 20th minute with a close-range right-footed shot off an assist by Samir Nasri.

However, Marc Navarro gave Espanyol the lead after scoring a header in the first half injury time. Teammate Gerard Moreno then sealed the game in the 71st minute as the Sevillistas were not able to fight back being down by one player.

Meanwhile, Villarreal blanked cellar-dwellers Granada, 2-0, at their home ground of Estadio de la Cerámica on Jan. 28, via Sporting Life.

Team captain Bruno netted the opening goal in the 42nd minute before Spanish defender Alvaro Gonzalez doubled their lead in the 73rd with a right-footer from the center of the box with the pass coming from Nicola Sansone.

The win snapped a three-game winless slide by head coach Fran Escribá's side. They are now sixth in the league table, holding the final Europa League qualifying berth for next season.
