"The Banner Saga 2" managed to earn its Kickstarter goal of $200,000 in under a week. With a successful campaign start and a month left to fund the project, the developers at Stoic have now unveiled the first few stretch goals.
The first stretch goal is listed for $250,000. Once this has been reached the developers will include three playable Dredge heroes that can be recruited into the party. This team includes a Dredge Stoneslinger, Hurler and Stoneguard.
Reaching $300,000 is the second stretch goal. If this goal is achieved before the Kickstarter campaign ends, a survival mode will be added to the game. However, this new mode will only be added after "The Banner Saga 3" has launched, the Kickstarter page reveals.
Ubin's fate will be determined by the success of the third stretch goal, which is set for $350,000. Ubin is a Jarl scribe and has been an important character since the first game. The goal description hints that something malevolent may happen to Ubin during his journeys to Dalalond.
However, the developers did not reveal what would happen to Ubin if the stretch goal was not reached. Stoic explained they could not reveal the details at this point in time, Dual Shockers reported.
More stretch goals are stated to be revealed. Stoic is expected to reveal more stretch goals if the current ones are met within a reasonable time frame.
"The Banner Saga 3" will be the final game in the franchise. Stoic has yet to reveal what their future games will be once the series has been concluded.
No release date has been announced but it will launch this year. The game is currently scheduled to release solely for the PC and Mac. Ports for the PS4, Xbox One and mobile devices are expected given how the previous two games also launched on those platforms.
