LG is expected to announce its high-end smartphone, the LG G6 on Feb. 26 ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) event. South Korean company teased its upcoming device in its invite mentioning "big screen that fits".
It was earlier reported, that LG G6 will be hitting the shelves in the middle of March. However, new information has revealed that the new device of LG is expected to be available for purchase in state from April 7. If the information is true, it will be going on sale even before Samsung Galaxy S8 that is likely to hit the markets starting from April 21, Venture Beat reported.
In the invitation, the South Korean tech giant teased its upcoming topnotch device with words, "Big Screen that fits". This indicates that the new phone will feature huge display with super-slim bezels.
LG G6 Specifications, Features
According to early rumors, the LG G6 will be carrying a 5.7-inch display that will support a quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. It features a 9:18 aspect ratio. LG calls its display as "Full Vision". In the leaked images, the device seems to sport slimmer bezels on the left and the right side of the phone's display.
The LG G6 smartphone is pegged to come powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset. It will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone is said to come dust and water resistant chassis. Leaked shots have revealed that it will be coming with dual rear-facing cameras and it is confirmed to feature a removable battery.
The phone is expected to cost higher than its earlier model, the LG G5. It is rumored to be priced at around $700. This time LG is said to have got rid of its modular concept, which led to poor sales of LG G5 in the last year, Phone Arena reported.
The LG G5 is a modular phone that was released in April last year. It sports a 5.3-inch display and weighs 159 grams. LG G5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. It has a 4 GB of RAM and a 32 GB internal storage. The phone features dual rear cameras of a 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. It is equipped with a removable 2,800 mAh battery.
