In mid-January, Sony had stopped the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat for Sony Xperia Z3+, Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z5. The Japanese company has now fixed the bugs and begun the rollout of the update once again for these devices.
Sony had to halt the release of Android 7.0 Nougat for Xperia Z3+, Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z5 series within three days as the update brought along issues for audio playback, memory card performance and unusual battery drain. However, Sony could not restart the software rollout soon as it presumably encountered developmental issues, Phone Arena reported.
The Japanese tech giant had even released a tweet stating that it is working on a fix to re-commence Android 7.0 Nougat update for the aforementioned devices. According to Xperia Blog, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is now available for Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet and Xperia Z3+.
The build number of the Nougat update that was previously released for the above devices was 32.3.A.0.372. However, the build number of the new firmware update is 32.3.A.0.376. It does not contain security patch for January and it does not include Vulkan graphics API support. The new update is said to be same as the previous one, but it comes with all the bug fixes.
The Android 7.0 Nougat build number 39.2.A.0.327 has been already released for Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance smartphones along with dual SIM versions. Sony has also released Nougat upgrade with build number 34.2.A0.266 for the users of Xperia X, Xperia X Compact along with their dual SIM models.
Sony is yet to release Android 7.0 Nougat update for some of its smartphones such as Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra. Rumors have it that these phones may receive the update in the second quarter of this year.
The Japanese tech giant is rumored to announce up to 5 smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event that will be held at the end of this month. Some of the smartphones that are pegged to get unleashed at the upcoming event are Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XA2.
