Jason Derulo claimed that he was a victim of racial discrimination by American Airlines crew. The singer revealed on his Instagram account about the alleged mistreatment that took place at Miami International Airport.
Derulo took to social media to complain that he experienced racial discrimination by the airlines' employees. He described the ordeal as racial discrimination before deleting the post. He mentioned that he had trouble over the amount of bags he could check in and had an argument with staff.
The RnB singer revealed that he was already on the flight to Los Angeles from Miami, when he the argument rolled out. He unveiled that the pilot ordered him and his group off the plane. He claimed that 15 police offers called his attention as if he is a criminal.
According to TMZ, Derulo and his crew of eight tried to checking nearly 20 bags, which led to an additional charge. The singer said that he is a "Concierge Key." However, the most elite passenger for American Airlines gets three checked bags for free.
He even pointed out that he always flies with American Airlines. He claimed that the authorities calmed down the moment they learned he is a celebrity. The singer explained that if he were not "Jason Derulo," then he would have been in jail.
The airlines have clarified that the flight returned to the gate before departure. "A passenger elected to deplane to travel with their checked bags. The passenger was rebooked with his checked bags on a later flight Wednesday evening," American Airlines spokesperson said in a statement posted by CNN.
According to People, Derulo and his crew allegedly under the influenced of marijuana and the singer's team were getting insistent during baggage check-in. They even refused to show identification as per Miami-Dade Police Department.
