"Lucifer" Season 3 has just been picked up by FOX for a total of 22 episodes. As of late, Season 2 has not ended yet, but there are already some speculations on what could happen in the Season 3 premiere.
When "Lucifer" Season 2 returns on May 1, viewers will finally learn the truth about Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) new relationship status. By the looks of it, he will be tying the knot with a woman named Candy. Episode 14 will also feature Lucifer's return to Los Angeles after departing the city to have some alone time.
After a total of 22 episodes air for Season 2, Season 3 could kick off with exciting storylines centered on the lead character. It is possible that by this time, Lucifer and Chloe (Lauren German) are already in an actual relationship. The two have very strong feelings for each other, but Lucifer believes Chloe's feelings are not genuine since she was just put on Earth to be on his path.
It is also possible that God (Timothy Omundson) and Charlotte (Tricia Helfer), Lucifer and Amanediel's (D.B. Woodside) parents will get back together. The two will reunite in Season 2, episode 16. Additionally, a major character may also be killed off to make Season 3 more interesting and impactful.
Meanwhile, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Amenadiel may also end up together in the premiere episode for Season 3. The latter has already developed feelings for the former, but in episode 19, Maze's husband will be introduced. The script for the episode was posted on the show's official Twitter account, and it revealed that episode 19 will be called "Mr. & Mrs. Mazikeen Smith."
In other news, Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris) is also expected to have more storylines in the upcoming season. The character, who typically appears in a series of cameos, can actually change the course of the show. Dr. Linda's sound advices could do all of the characters some good.
"Lucifer" Season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in September.
