Avid viewers of the NBC TV series "Blindspot" Season 2 might soon see two of the show's beloved characters rekindle their romance. Latest spoiler new teased of a potential romantic development in Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt's (Sullivan Stapleton) relationship in upcoming episodes.
"Blindspot" Season 2 episode 13 titled "Name Not One Man" featured a plot development in Jane's story arc that had her exploring a new romantic relationship with Oliver (Jonathan Patrick Moore). Aired on Feb. 8, Wednesday, the couple even went on a date together.
Given Jane's previous romance with Kurt, the FBI executive will have a definite reaction to his former love interest's new dating status. Executive producer Martin Gero told Entertainment Weekly that Kurt will be jealous over Jane and Oliver's relationship.
The development in Jane's dating life will also lead to Kurt's realization that he has feelings for the said agent. Despite introducing the Jane and Oliver romance, the said relationship will serve as a critical step in Jane and Kurt's potential future together as a couple, according to Gero.
The showrunner stated, "Sometimes it takes the person you like going on a date with someone to realize like, 'Oh boy, I have feelings about this person.' Even though it will feel like we're moving it away from Jeller, I think it's an important step in the process."
Meanwhile, Alexander also shared her thoughts about Jane's new romance with Oliver. In an earlier interview with TV Guide, the actress commented that her character will start to "dabble a little bit more in romance" in the NBC show's second season.
However, Alexander does not seem confident that Jane's new relationship with Oliver will last. Comparing the romance to a ticking bomb, she hinted that Jane's explorations in love and dating might soon blow up in her face. She added, "I feel bad for the guy."
