The GTX 1080 Ti is expected to bridge the gap between the 1080 itself and the needlesly expensive Pascal Titan X. It would be more powerful than its little brother but be more affordable than the next overpowered card.

NVIDIA sent an invitation to Videocardz regarding the GTX Gaming event where there is a possibility of the 1080 Ti card appearing. The invitation says that the actual event will start at 7:00PM and that it will be on a basis of first come, first served. Only one ticket will be given to each individual.

Besides te event details, there are no other clues as to what NVIDIA is up to. The last line of the invitation does state that the person should not miss the event which could signal that there will be something new.

AMD's new Vega GPUs are expected to be at least on par with the current Pascal GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards. If that is true, NVIDIA will need to up their game to convince customers that they should be chosen instead of the competitor.

NVIDIA's GTX Gaming event will be held on the same day as AMD's Capsaicin and Cream event, WCCFTech reported. Gamers may be treated to two unveilings of new video cards from the companies.

The GTX 1080 Ti may still trump the base model of the Vega GPUs. However, AMD could have more powerful models down the line which are expected to have more value in terms of the price. NVIDIA and AMD's events will be held on Feb. 28.
