The next "Call of Duty" game will shift back to traditional warfare, entering in a new World War 2-set game. A team of British developers has managed to present clues into what Activision will do next following the release of "COD: Infinite Warfare."

U.K. based Bulkhead Interactive managed to gather some hints and evidences that point out to the next step of Activision for their first-person shooter video game. According to an executive producer at Bulkhead, Joe Brammer, COD will bring back gamers to World War 2 setting, possibly having single player Russian mission.

"In mid-2014, a Call of Duty level designer was visiting Berlin and taking lots of photos of various notable WW2 buildings. Mid-2014 would fit perfectly into a timeline for reference gathering. So why not visit Berlin for an awesome Russian mission in the single-player campaign," PC GamesN quoted Brammer as saying.

The move of taking back audiences to a traditional warfare was prompted by the poor market performance of their futuristic "Infinite Warfare" installment. Comments on various social media sites and gaming forum sites expressed their dismay to the latest offering of Activision. That is why the game publisher decided to bring the game back to its original origin, according to Play Station Lifestyle.

Activision's COO Thomas Tippl hinted a significant update on the upcoming "COD" game. He emphasized that the game will be back to its roots and traditional combat mission will take center stage once more. This remarkable shift or approach towards the game came along with the recognition of the company that a portion of their followers did not like the space setting.

As of the current writing, there are no other details being given or hinted both by the company and other game developers following the progress of "COD." However, in consonance to the traditional period of release, it is being expected that next "COD" will be released in May.
