Claire Danes, 37, and Jim Parsons, 43, are set to work together. Unfortunately for those who think it will be on the small screen, the project is neither "Homeland" Season 6 nor "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10.
Danes and Parsons will play a married couple in a film titled "A Kid Like Jake," Variety has learned. Based on a celebrated Lincoln Center play, the project will be adapted by Silas Howard, who is one of only a few transgender Hollywood directors and is known for the TV series "Transparent."
"A Kid Like Jake" is a family drama about a couple trying to raise a son, who at the age of four prefers being a princess than a soldier. The screenplay of the independent film will be written by Daniel Pearle.
Double Nickel will executive produce the film. Along with Eric Norsoph, Parsons and Todd Spiewak will serve as producers through That's Wonderful Productions.
The project will mark the first lead role in a film for Parsons. As for Danes, she recently played a lead role in the drama film "Brigsby Bear" opposite "Star Wars" star Mark Hamill and "Saturday Night Live" star Kyle Mooney.
On the small screen, Danes is known for playing Carrie Mathison in "Homeland." The Showtime series is currently in its sixth season.
Recently, Danes wrapped up shooting "Homeland" Season 6. On Feb. 24, she was seen taking a break from filming in front of The Greenwich Hotel in New York City, Daily Mail reported.
On the other hand, Parsons is known for playing Sheldon Cooper in "The Big Bang Theory." His co-stars are Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Kaley Cuoco as Penny Hofstadter, Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, Kunal Nayyar as Raj Koothrappali, Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler and Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski.
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 returns on March 9, Thursday, with episode 18 titled "The Escape Hatch Identification." In the episode, a conflict will arise between Amy and Leonard's mother Dr. Beverly Hofstadter (Christine Baranski) when the group offers a place for Raj to live.
