Critics have been accusing "Rap God" rapper Eminem, 44, of homophobia and misogyny. However, "Lose Yourself" producer Jeff Bass, 55, and the United Kingdom's "The X Factor" Season 12 winner Louisa Johnson, 19, see him differently.
According to Bass, Eminem is a person who understands emotions easily. The music producer explained the type of creative the Detroit rapper is in an interview with Billboard.
"I couldn't explain to him in musical terms at that time what we were gonna write," Bass said as he talked about his experiences with Eminem in their various collaborations. "But he seemed to understand me when I said that we would be doing a happy song or a sad song or an angry song."
For Bass, Eminem is an artist who can understand the emotions of the songs. This is how the "Rap God" rapper was able to communicate with Bass on musical terms, the producer explained.
According to Bass, he would do the music and track most of the time, have them all ready and show them to Eminem, who would decide whether or not he liked it. There were also times when they would just sit down together raw and start building something with no music at all.
Bass is a strong believer that Eminem is one of the best musicians of this generation. It is not a surprise that the rapper is a strong influence to many artists, such as Johnson.
In a recent interview with the Sunday Mirror, Johnson said Eminem has "a lot of emotion so it would be cool to work with him." For the "X Factor" winner, working with the "Rap God" rapper is "the dream."
Currently, Johnson is working on her debut album. She revealed that the album will feature "love, hate and sexiness."
