"The Americans" Season 5 will premiere on FX on March 7, Tuesday, at 10:00 p.m. with the episode titled "Amber Waves." In the episode, Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) will have another task that will put their marriage into a test.
Philip and Elizabeth's marriage and family life are already tense and the couple will received more challenges as the Centre sends a new operation to them. It is an operation that is unlike anything before.
Philip and Elizabeth's daughter Paige Jennings (Holly Taylor) has witnesses her mother kill two men. After this, Paige will trade in church for training sessions with her mother.
Paige will first learn self-defense. The second part of her training could tear the family apart and this could also mean the beginning of the end for Paige and Matthew Beeman (Daniel Flaherty), the son of FBI agent Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich).
In "The Americans" Season 4 finale titled "Persona Non Grata," Philip picked up Paige from the of house of Stan. There, Stan told Philip that he saw Matthew and Paige kissing.
Philip then told Paige while they were walking back home that she should stop seeing Matthew. Paige had no idea what she was getting herself into, according to Philip.
"Persona Non Grata" aired on June 8, 2016. It was written by Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg directed by Chris Long.
It was also Fields and Weisberg who wrote "Amber Waves," which was directed by Long. Joining Rhys, Russell, Taylor and Flaherty in the episode are Alexander Sokovikov as Alexei Morozov, Alex Ozerov as Mischa Semenov, Peter Mark Kendall as Hans, Zack Gafin as Pasha Morozov and Brandon deSpain as a border patrol officer.
