"Descendants of the Sun" did so well that it is a difficult task to make a second season that will match, if not surpass, its success. One way to make a successful second season of the KBS2 series that starred Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki is to add "The Legend of the Blue Sea" star Lee Min Ho and his girlfriend Suzy.
Recently, Lee topped two international surveys declaring him the favorite South Korean actor in the world today. On March 2, he was one of the winners of the 12th Annual Soompi Awards announced by the United States-based online news provider Soompi.
Lee was voted the Actor of the Year. He was chosen over Joong Ki, Eric Mun, Jang Hyuk, Ji Chang Wook, Ji Sung, Jo Jin Woong, Jo Jung Suk, Kim Rae Won, Kim Woo Bin, Lee Jong Suk, Lee Joon Gi, Seo In Guk, Park Bo Gum and Park Hae Jin.
Hye Kyo won the Actress of the Year award. She was chosen over Suzy, UEE, Yoona, IU, Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Hye Soo, Kim So Hyun, Kim Yoo Jung, Lee Sung Kyung, Han Hyo Joo, Hwang Jung Eum and Park Shin Hye.
Another international survey was conducted by the Korea Creative Content Agency. Around 4,700 United States-based fans of the Korean Wave voted for their favorite South Korean stars today, The Strait Times has learned.
Min Ho was voted the top actor while Shin Hye was the top actress. Runners-up were Joon Gi and Jong Suk in the male category and IU and Gong Hyo Jin in the female category.
Putting Min Ho, Suzy, Joong Ki and Hye Kyo in the same TV show will be magical, and what better way to do this than by making them the main cast of "Descendants of the Sun 2." However, there are very few Korean drama series like "Reply" that continues with a second season.
Meanwhile, here is Suzy's "Yes No Maybe" music video:
