tvN was a big winner at the 2017 Korea Cable TV Awards. Its series won several awards including the Popularity Award for "Problematic Men" star Kim Ji Seok.
"Problematic Men" premiered on tvN on Feb. 26, 2015. Kim's fellow cast members in the TV program are Jun Hyun Moo, Ha Seok Jin, Lee Jang Won, Park Kyung and Tyler Rasch. K-Pop boy band BTS leader Kim Nam Joon, who is professionally known as Rap Monster, is a former cast member.
The 2017 Korea Cable TV Awards ceremony was held at the COEX auditorium in Seoul, South Korea on March 10, Friday, Soompi reported. Aside from "Problematic Men," tvN series "The Good Wife," "Goblin" and "Another Oh Hae Young" also won awards.
tvN is set to release its first sci-fi drama series. Kim Kang Woo and Yeo Jin Goo will star in the new drama series titled "Circle," which is set both in present-day Korea and in 2037, Korea Herald reported.
People behind "Goblin" rejoiced as the TV series, which aired on tvN from Dec. 2, 2016 to Jan. 21, won the Daesang or Drama Grand Prize and the same category in the Cable VOD (Video on Demand) Grand Prize Awards.
"Goblin" won two more awards in the Cable Star Awards. K-Pop boy band BtoB member Yook Sung Jae, who is professionally known as Sunghae, won the Rising Star, Acting award while Amy Lee, who is professionally known as Ailee, received an award for singing "I Will Go to You Like the First Snow" as OST of the series.
Yoo Ji Tae won Best Actor for his portrayal of a prosecutor named Lee Tae Joon in "The Good Wife," the South Korean remake of the CBS series of the same name. His fellow main cast members in the tvN series are Jeon Do Yeon as a newly hired lawyer and Tae Joon's wife named Kim Hye Kung and Yoon Kye Sang as Hye Kung's friend named Seo Joong Won.
