Both Malaysian MMA fighters Ev Ting and Muhammad Aiman are fighting against a Filipino opponent at "ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny." Ting and Eduard Folayang will headline the event while Aiman and undefeated fighter Danny Kingad will battle it out in the flyweight division.
Understandably, Aiman is rooting for Ting. In a recent interview, Aiman explained why he thought Ting would win the fight against Folayang, who is making his first ONE lightweight title defense.
"I have faith in him," Aiman said of Ting. "He might be the underdog but he is more well-rounded and he is at his prime now. I look up to him and I believe he can win the first world title for Malaysia and make big changes in Malaysian MMA."
"ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny" will be held on April 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It will be Folayang's first time to defend his lightweight world championship title.
Eugene Toquero from the Philippines is also fighting in the flyweight division at "ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny" against Stefer Rahardian from Indonesia. Kevin Belingon from the Philippines will fight Toni Tauru from Finland and Chan Rothana from Cambodia will from Xie Bin from China in the bantamweight division while Christian Lee from Singapore and Keanu Subba from Malaysia will fight in the featherweight division.
In the "ONE Championship: Kings of Destiny" prelims, Robin Catalan and Jeremy Miado, both from the Philippines, will battle it out in the strawweight division. Michelle Nicolino from Brazil will fight Irina Mazepa from Russia also in the strawweight division while Gina Iniong and Natalie Gonzales Hills, both from the Philippines, will fight in the first atomweight division.
If Aiman wins the fight against Kingad, it will be Aiman's third win as a professional MMA fighter and Kingad's first loss. Meanwhile, here is a video featuring Aiman:
