Universal Pictures and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, unwrapped the luxury "Fast and Furious" 777 airliner at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to support the upcoming film "Fast and Furious 7."
The white Boeing 777 aircraft is labelled with the upcoming film title with a smaller label "World Premiere 2015." It also includes the website of Etihad Airways.
According to The Global Dispatch, the United Arab Emirates gave the crew a chance to instill remarkable spots and elements into the film. "Fast and Furious 7" is set mainly in Abu Dhabi and features various locals such as the Liwa Desert, the Yas Marina F1 race circuit, Emirates Palace hotel, Sheikh Zayed Grand Moque, as well as the Etihad Towers.
Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer Peter Baumgartner also expressed his thoughts on working with Universal Pictures. He said that The UAE national airline is known to uphold a solid history of culture and innovation as well as commitment for the travel experience of their guests. While Etihad Airways stands as one of the rapidly-growing airlines in the world, the crew is delighted to work hand in hand with the production company, as it has the spirit of "innovation and reimagination" in the world of entertainment.
In behalf of the "Fast and Furious" crew, producer Neal H. Moritz also expressed his gratitude to Etihad Airways for their support in the film.
"We are so honored that Etihad has partnered with us to support this very personal film, and we thank the people of the United Arab Emirates for all the kindness and graciousness they showed throughout production," he said.
Filming, which included helicopter shots, stunts, and visual effects, took place in Abu Dhabi in November 2013. However, it was postponed after the death of actor Paul Walker in a car accident. Filming resumed in April last year. The national airline also serves as the sponsor of "Fast and Furious 7" world premiere, which is set in Los Angeles on Apr. 1, as per Albawaba.
The film is directed by James Wan. Together with walker, the film stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, John Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Johnson, and Vin Diesel.
"Fast and Furious 7" is slated to premiere in theaters on Apr. 3.
