Microsoft has learnt that RT versions did not have an impact among consumers which is why they are planning to launch a new Surface 3 tablet which will sit alongside Surface Pro 3.
Surface 2 is a good idea which allowed users to enjoy the convenience of a good operating system. However, it lacked a lot of features in its RT version which led to its abysmal failure. Microsoft is looking forward to overcome this issue by launching the Surface 3, which will run the full version of Windows 8.1 which will be upgradeable to Windows 10.
The tablet will not only be a great alternative to a laptop as it runs with a complete version of the operating system, but the company is also planning to lower its specifications to make it more affordable, according to Pocket Lint.
It will powered by an Intel Atom or most probably a more powerful Intel Core M processor. While Microsoft has not announced an official launch date yet, it is expected that the company will most likely announce the Surface 3 during the upcoming Build Developer Conference on Apr. 29.
Meanwhile, the new products will receive Windows 10 upgrade on launch, the company confirmed that older RT versions will not be upgraded to the latest operating system because they were not designed to support it.
Apple's iPad and Android tablets have been ruling the tablet scenario for many years now. Microsoft's aim is to bring those people who need productive things done on their tablet to the Surface Pro devices, Engadget reported.
