Twitterati are still moping over the exit of Zayn Malik from the popular band One Direction, but the singer has definitely moved on as he is featured in the new track of his collaborator Naughty Boy.
Latest reports state that Shahid Khan aka Naughty Boy has tweeted a link to a new upcoming single "I Won't Mind" late at night. "Let the music do the talking guys. thank us later. :) x," wrote the English DJ and musician along with a link to the preview of the song, which also features the vocals of Malik.
The link became an instant hit with more than 20,000 clicks within minutes. Listen to the brief snippet of the song here.
Malik announced his departure from the band on Mar. 25. His decision appeared a sudden and impromptu move and he cited 'too much stress' as a one of the reasons to leave the band while it is amid its world tour. However, the singer clarified a couple of days later that he aspires to have his own solo career and wanted to break away from the band.
It now appears that Malik was planning his departure from the band months before. Naughty Boy and Malik were working together much before his so-called-sudden exit from the all boy band. Naughty Boy has also introduced a moniker 'zaughty' and is reportedly trying to make it popular and trendy on social media, The Guardian reported.
It is yet not clear that the melancholic acoustic track introduced on Twitter by the musician is Malik's single debut or just a collaboration with Naughty Boy. In the wake of a new track just after Malik's exit from the band, Naughty Boy is facing criticism for being insensitive for teasing with the song in barely a week's time after Malik's departure. One Direction band member and Harry Styles' co-artist, Louis Tomlinson tweeted and accused the producer of stealing the band's fan base.
Naughty Boy is known to have played a pivotal role in the success of the singer Sam Smith and many other British artists such as Chipmunk, Wiley, Emeli Sandé, Leona Lewis, JLS and Cheryl.
