Pimples are perhaps the last thing that anyone even remotely concerned with their looks will like to sport on their face. No wonder, people often resort to bursting them as a means of getting rid of these quickly.
Unfortunately, popping a pimple is least recommended as doing that runs the risk of spreading the infection to other parts of the face skin. Severe cases of the pimple can be termed acne with the latter generally being painful to touch.
There are a few methods that can help cure open pimples to regain a soft natural looking skin. First, ice treatment can be resorted to if there is marked inflammation and swelling, recommends Kate Somerville, esthetician to celebrities like Jessica Alba and Paris Hilton.
"I recommend applying a gel spot treatment that will form a film over the area and making sure the skin is closed before applying any makeup," said Somerville.
Also, using a toner containing witch hazel is always a good idea after bursting a pimple as this helps remove some of the skin redness, claims Tony Silla, a Los Angeles based esthetician.
The next step will be to adopt means to prevent bacterial infection. This can be achieved by using an anti-bacterial treatment such a Neosporin over the area. Another simple method of controlling bacterial infection is to cover the wound with a band aid as this will also dissuade one from touching the area, according to Bustle.
Care should also be taken when applying makeup such as foundation or concealer over the open pimple.
While these can surely help curing an open pimple, there are other more natural means available as well that can help treat open pimples just as effectively.
Among these, aloevera can work wonders in treating open pimples. The pulp can be applied directly over the wound which helps acts as a soothing agent and speeds up the recovery process, according to Boldsky.
Applying Neem leaves also helps a lot in healing open pimples as neem is known to have antiseptic properties. For this, fresh neem leaves need to be boiled and the pimple washed with the lukewarm water. The benefits are multiple as this helps prevent bacterial infection, aids in the healing process and prevent any residual marks or scars.
