Mirror also confirmed that the gunfire inside the calm Palace of Justice had created panic that made hundreds of people flooding the stairways on the exit while the authorities are looking for the gunman.

A witness of the incident said that he had heard at least three or four shots. After the gunfire, some of the witnesses tried to find out what is going on but police starts to pour in and told them to immediately evacuate.

The witness also said that after they came out of the building he heard that an armed man in a suit and tie is still at large in the courthouse. Another witness who happens to be one a judge in an Appeals court told the local news channel that the gunman opened fire at the entrance to a courtroom before running towards the part of the building.

It is also unclear how the gunman managed to sweep in the weapon undetected considering that everyone that enters the Palace of Justice needs to pass through series of metal detectors.
