South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has been very busy lately in integrating its new signature design to its car fleet. The latest to have this makeover is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson which debuts its new look at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
The Tucson's new look is a complete redesign and not just an update, according to Inside Car News. A major design tweak was featured on Tucson's body that now sports a fresh façade. The 2016 Tucson now feature Hyundai's redesigned front grille which is now hexagonal in shape along with its latest LED technology headlights and a new front bumper.
The hexagonal shape was noted by many car analysts as the key element in Hyundai's latest design.
On the Tucson's back, Hyundai made some major work with its taillights, exhaust tips and an all-new spoiler which was unavailable in older models. In congruence to the 2016 Tucson's redesigned body, its wheelbase is now 1.2 inch longer which in turn gave the SUV a better posture as well as increase its cabin space.
The new Tucson's design was described as "sculpted body forms and sporty contours for an athletic, bold and striking appearance," according to Customs Today.
In addition, Hyundai will release the 2016 Tucson with a 19-inch alloy wheels. The new wheel design sports an asymmetrical spoke design with forward-raking wheel arch design.
Hyundai also made some major overhaul on the inside of the 2016 Tucson. The company added more premium materials including a fully-wrapped instrument panel. Hyundai also incorporated several soft-touch materials on the cars dashboard including a soft-touch driver's knee-pad.
Despite the redesigned exteriors, the 2016 Tucson only has some minor changes under the hood. It still has the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine but Hyundai said that the new engine was tweaked for increased fuel efficiency. Hyundai said that the new engine now has a mileage rating of 23 miles-per-gallon on city, 31 miles-per-gallon on highway and 26 miles-per-gallon combines.
Hyundai said that the new 2016 Tucson will be available in dealers by July.
