In the fifth installment of the "Terminator" franchise "Terminator Genisys," Schwarzenegger returns as the Guardian wherein he poses as an ally to Sgt. Kyle Reese who was sent back in the past to protect John's mother Sarah Connor.
John sent Kyle back in 1984 to safeguard her future but Kyle was trapped in a different timeline. He was in an unfamiliar version and place in the past and teams up with the Guardian to combat the dangerous and evil enemies. Kyle's mission is to reset their future so he can go back to the present year and meet up with John.
A "Terminator" movie is not complete without its legendary star Schwarzenegger as he is the main reason for the sci-fi movie as Christian Today stateD.
Fans remembered that Schwarzenegger did not star in the fourth installment of the franchise, as he described it as awful. The movie "Terminator: Salvation" starred Christian Bale, Sam Worthington and Helena Bonham Carter and it did not do well in the box office despite the big names in the film. The former US governor even said that the movie plot sucked that is why he did not sign-up for it.
In the latest installment of the series, Schwarzenegger will be joined by Jason Clarke as John Connor, Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" fame, Jai Courtney as the dependable Kyle Reese. Joining them are Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons and Lee Byung-hun who will all play important roles to help Kyle do his mission, IGN reported.
"Terminator Genisys" will focus mainly on Kyle Reese who will be travelling back in the past to see to it that Sarah Connor is protected but gets lost in the broken timeline.
The fourth installment will premiere worldwide on July 1.
