Lewis Hamilton, British Formula One champion, is once again headlining news after spraying champagne on a hostess while celebrating his event at China. Unfortunately, this is the second time he has pulled a similar gesture this season.
Hamilton won his second championship for the season and celebrated by popping the champagne cork and spraying the liquid straight into a hostess' face. The surprised, unimpressed hostess did not enjoy the attention from the F1 champion, obviously, but the ace continued to spray anyway.
Roz Hardie, a chief executive of a campaign on sex object culture, said "The photographs appear to show that the woman is not just being splashed, but that the champagne is being very specifically directed into her face, which does not look like a voluntary piece of horseplay on her part," Daily Mail reported.
"If this is the case, we think that Lewis Hamilton must ask apology for his rude actions and carefully think about how he should behave in the future. For most onlookers, it is apparent that the hostess is not enjoying, it all," he added.
The incident is not the F1 ace's first time to pull a similar exhibition. The 30 years old champion seemed to have enjoyed this act, making it a trademark. He had also splashed champagne on a Montmelo hostess at Circuit de Catalunya earlier in the season.
The British race car driver won the championship held at Shanghai's China Grand Prix on April 12. He beat Nico Rosberg, a Mercedes Benz teammate, to the finish line by 0.04 seconds. Despite controversy, analysts say that this is so far his most impressive win, Kicker Daily said.
