The Sunday night in Texas, the country music stars were gathered as they celebrated some of the finest country music. The 50th anniversary of ACM Awards or Academy of Country Music Awards was celebrated.
According to CBS, Keith Urban and Eric Church kick started the evening by giving a heartfelt tribute to Merle Haggard.

Miranda Lambert's "Platinum" bagged the album of the year award while Lambert also won the female vocalist of the year award. Little Big Town took home the vocal group of the year award this year. Meanwhile, Florida Georgia Line won the vocal duo of the year award.
"Drunk on a Plane" by Dierks Bentley won the video of the year award. Miranda Lambert's "Automatic" bagged the song of the year award.
Cole Swindell took home the new artist of the year award while Milestone Awards were presented to Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney and Brooks & Dunn.
Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton returned for the third year as hosts. The duo announced that Academy of Country Music Awards created a Guinness World Record. The awards show was the most attended live awards show.

Taylor Swift's mom Andrea awarded her daughter the Milestone Award. "To the fans -- I know you love her as I love her. And for that I thank you eternally," Andrea said. Andrea was diagnosed with cancer.
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson gave the Milestone Award to McEntire. "I have the coolest mother-in-law and you can all suck it," Clarkson before she called McEntire.
