Country music superstar Randy Travis made a special appearance at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards, two years after he suffered a debilitating stroke.
His fellow country music artist, Lee Brice, paid him a tribute by singing the hit song "Forever and Ever, Amen."
Following the song, Travis introduced by Brice and thousands of event attendees welcomed him with warm cheers and applauses.
"That classic tune won song of the year in 1985 and the man who sang it has made an amazing comeback to be with us tonight. Ladies and Gentlemen, the great Randy Travis," Brice said.
Also there to witness Travis' momentous comeback was his wife, Mary Travis.
In an interview with People, Mary said, "Randy's history with the ACM awards goes back over two decades. With the awards in Dallas and celebrating 50 years, it's something Randy and I would not miss."
Following his brief appearance on Sunday night, Travis posted a thank you letter addressed to his fans via his official website.
"It was an amazing gift to feel all of the love from you tonight. It has been a hard fought and miraculous journey since my stroke two years ago, and I have gained a greater understanding of God's grace and how quickly events can change us," he started the letter.
Travis then went on to thank all of his fans and everyone who has prayed for his recovery.
"Words can never express my gratitude to those who continue to believe in me, pray for me, and keep me lifted up in thought and deed," he wrote.
