"Scandal" Season 4 airs Episode 20 packed with game changing twists on April 23. The upcoming segment is titled "First Lady Sings the Blues" and will focus on Mellie's career which might be in grave danger. Meanwhile, fans will also learn if Jake Ballard, Olivia Pope's former flame, is really dead or not. Here are few spoilers for the next episode of "Scandal" Season 4. Fans can expect to see the team getting itself in some serious danger. ABC has released a synopsis for Episode 20 of "Scandal" Season 4 on its official website. According to the press release, the team employed to overthrow B613 will find itself in an extreme situation putting the lives of the team members in danger. In order to safeguard the team's security, the team must take some desperate measures. Meanwhile, Rowan Pope is unstoppable and he is determined to protect the agency.

In the White House, things get really difficult for Mellie to deal with. She faces one of the biggest challenges of her political career as she watches the nation turn against her. Cyrus springs into action to rescue Mellie and prevent her political career from getting destroyed. A promo video (as published on YouTube.com by Escandalo Team) gives a glimpse of Mellie and the President's discussion with Elizabeth and Sally.

"Scandal" Season 4 Episode 19 ended with a major cliffhanger. Fans were left shocked when Rowan Pope's man Franklin Russell left Jake Ballard to die after stabbing him multiple times. Panic spread among the fans wondering if it is the end of the beloved character's storyline. But latest photos for one of the upcoming episodes have emerged on the internet and they show Jake is not dead. He can be seen resting in the bed as Olivia tends to him. According to Melty.fr, Jake will remain absent in Episode 20 but return in Episode 21.    

In second promo video for Episode 20 (via TV Fanatic), Quinn discovers Jake's body covered in blood on office's conference table. She assumes he is conscious and is waiting for his attacker. However, he makes no moment or sound.
