Chinese traditional medicine guru Liu Minru opened her third clinic in Sichuan Province, southwestern part of China, on Monday, Women of China reported.
Liu is a sole female member of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) gurus, a group which practices a 2,000-year-old healing practice which includes various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, Tui na or massage, qigong or exercise, and dietary therapy.
The 88-year-old guru, who advocates to restore the ancient practice throughout the world, is associated with Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of the four established TCM universities in China.
"Aged as I am, I am still full of positive energy to teach and contribute more," Liu said as quoted by Women of China.
Liu added that she will not stop doing her job until the end of her life.
Aside from opening her clinic, Liu was also given a "master's" award by China's health authority as well as the State Administration of TCM, making her the first female professor of TCM to be awarded with the prestigious recognition.
As the ceremony aimed to advocate pure Chinese medicine and medical practices, the guru presented many creative theories specializing in rare and difficult gynecological diseases, as well as the combination of primary prevention, treatment, and recuperation into one.
Liu's ideas of "treating, teaching and studying" were achieved through lectures, writing books, and conducting different researches.
The guru's other clinics are located in Hong Kong and in the southern part of China in Guangdong Province.
