In a bold move, singer Bobby Brown has applied for guardianship over daughter Bobbi Kristina's estate. The $20 million estate is left by her mother and the legendary singer, Whitney Houston.
The news has come just couple of days after the celebrity child was reported to have come out of coma after almost three months. The family is still split over the medical condition of the celebrity child. Brown sounded hopeful and elated to the concert goers saying that his daughter is awake and is watching him while Houston's mother, Cissy Houston, claims that the 22-year-old has suffered irreversible brain damage and is still unresponsive with not much hopes of recovery.
Brown's decision to file for guardianship was not appreciated by Cissy and her sons, Inquisitr reported.
It is reported that Brown is taking all the medical decisions on the behalf of his daughter. The celebrity child has also received 10 percent of the estate left to her by her mother. She will receive another 15 percent at the age of 25 and the rest once she turns 30, New York Daily News reported.
According to Whitney's will, her two brothers and her mother will inherit the estate if the celebrity child dies before entering into her majority. Brown was originally included as a beneficiary in the will but his later 2007 divorce from the singer reportedly has nullified the claim.
The celebrity child has already inherited $2 million when she turned 21 last year. Going by the next of kin thumb rule, Brown can inherit Kristina's present estate if the celebrity child's long time partner, Nick Gordon, fails to legally prove his marriage.
It is still not known whether the bed ridden celebrity child has her own will or not.
