Brad Pitt recently appeared at the third annual Light Up Blues Concert event in Hollywood where he stunned fans when he went up on stage with a huge bruise on his face.
Following his appearance on Saturday, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" star spoke to People to reveal the story behind his bruise.
"This is what happens when you try to run up steps in the dark, with your arms full, wearing flip-flops. Turns out if you then try to stop your forward momentum with your face, the result is road rush," he said.
Still, despite his controversial appearance, the "Fight Club" actor revealed that nothing like what happened to him the night before could stop him from attending the event because it was such a huge honor.
"Regardless, I wasn't going to miss the Autism Speaks benefit the night after - wonderful people and I was honored to be a part of this important event," he told the publication.
Meanwhile, also at the event, the 51-year-old actor entered a bidding war for a high-end guitar and ended up bringing it home after shelling out $23,000 in an auction.
"School of Rock" actor Jack Black served as emcee for the Light Up Blues Concert that also featured performances from some of the most talented musicians who have autism, E! News reported.
Also in attendance were Christina Applegate, Amy Brenneman, Gary Cole and several other big names in Hollywood. Pitt was not joined by his partner, Angelina Jolie at the said event.
In other news, prior to Saturday night's event, Pitt was spotted with his children, Vivienne and Knox buying donuts, the Daily Mail noted.
