LG has a new Windows phone called Lancet. However, while that was known for some time now, what has emerged new is the full specification of the upcoming Verizon device, which in turn points to it being in the mid-range segment much like the Lumia 640.
Coming to the details, the Lancet will have a 4.5 inch display upfront lit up by 854 x 480 pixels. Behind it, it's going to be a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 CPU mated to what is being speculated to be a 1 GB RAM. The device will however have only 8 GB of internal memory with only half of that being user accessible. Fortunately, there is a microSD card slot to make up for the paltry storage capacity, claimed Windows Central.
For the shutterbugs, the Lancet will also have an 8 megapixel unit at the rear capable of 1080p video recording though only a VGA unit at the front for selfies. A 2100mAh will be providing the juice though its known how long that is going to last for the LTE capable device. Running the show will be Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 which comes with its own set of goodies. These include Microsoft Office, Cortana voice assisted service OneNote along with the ability to customize live tiles on home and start menu.
To top it all, LG is all set to introduce several of its Android specific features such as Knock On, Gesture Shot and Soft Light on the Windows device. Knock On allows the user to wake up or put the phone back to sleep with two knocks, stated SlashGear.
Gesture Shot and Soft Light are selfie based features with the former allowing for gestures based selfies for perfect timing while the latter illuminates the screen for better lighting conditions. However, with just a VGA camera upfront, it remains to be seen how useful the two features eventually prove to be.
Meanwhile, there is no news when the Lancet hits the street though with the e-brochure already in the public domain, it seems the LG Lancet for Verizon is not too far away.
