Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release is reported to happen in June and will battle head on with other upcoming tablets such as Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and iPad Air 3.
The original Samsung Galaxy Tab S models were released in June 2014. It seemed that Samsung will follow its previous pattern in the summer. However, some sources are saying that the South Korean tech giant will unveil the new devices on the second or third quarter this year.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is working on four versions of the device and it is already in the works for its June release date. The line will have two core variants - the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 with the numerals relating to the screen sizes of the devices. The two models will further have two variants, namely Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi plus LTE.
In a separate report, the publication noted that the new Galaxy Tab S lineup comes with model numbers SM-T710 and SM-T810. The previous line has SM-T700 and SM-T800. The specs and features are not official yet, but Trusted Reviews reported that the tablets will sport a "premium" feel as the devices will be made out of high quality materials.
Under the hood, the tablets are reported to pack Samsung's flagship 64-bit Exynos chipset, as well as 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and a microSD slot for additional storage. In addition, the devices run with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS straight out of the box, and will offer LTE Cat. 6 connectivity, which can handle a theoretical maximum download speed of 300Mbps. The weights are 260g and 407g respectively - the iPad Air 2 weighs 437g, so both are lighter than their predecessors.
However, Samsung has not confirmed the official Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release date yet.
