Simon Cowell has given his comment on the cancellation of "American Idol" as Fox recently announced on the eve of Season 14 finale festivities on May 11, Monday.
In a statement released to People, Cowell said he, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest and the first-season co-host Brian Dunkleman "had a blast."
"Thanks to the fans we were able to make some great shows and found some amazing artists," Cowell said. "Fox took a risk on a brand new show and I want to thank them for giving us the opportunity. They really were great times."
Seacrest also said he cannot wait for "American Idol" season 15. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban will also serve as judges for the final season of the show that made superstars out of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Phillip Phillips, Adam Lambert, Katherine McPhee and Elliott Yamin.
"Next season will be emotional, yes, but next season will be unforgettable," Seacrest said.
Meanwhile, Jacki "Jax" Cole is currently the last girl standing on "American Idol" season 14.
"The end is so close," Jax told My Central Jersey on May 9. "I feel like I can almost touch it. 'American Idol' has changed my life forever."
On May 7, Jax and her fellow "American Idol" season 14 finalists Clark Beckham and Nick Fradiani recorded their individual coronation songs. They also went to the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard to rehearse.
If Jax manages to beat Beckham and Fradiani, she will be the fifth female winner and the 14th and the second to the last "American Idol" champion.
The two parts of the "American Idol" season 14 grand finale will be on May 12, Tuesday, and May 13, Wednesday.
