With ABC and Marvel's "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 finale closing with a shocking cliff-hanger, fans have a lot of questions to answer in the third season of the series.
In "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 finale episode titled "SOS," the fanaticism of Inhuman leader Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) threatened the lives of every remaining SHIELD agent, which forced Skye (Chloe Bennet) to lose her parents for a second time.
"Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." executive producer Jeffrey Bell discussed the emotional ramifications of Skye gaining her mother only to lose her for a second time because of Jiaying's own betrayal in a recent interview with Variety.
Bell explained that in "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2, "we had Skye's biological parents versus her surrogate parents, and at the same time, we had Skye growing up."
"We had her going from a slightly sulky hacker season one to training to become an agent to becoming our first full-fledged superhero," Bell said of Skye. "And so, as we grow up, we separate from our parents."
According to Bell, it does not always mean killing the parents per se but those desires are there sometimes.
In addition, Bell said it "would be cool" to do another crossover involving "Agent Carter" star Hayley Atwell in "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3. Atwell was one of the celebrities who recently recreated the famous Second World War kiss that took place months after VE Day, Warrington Guardian reported.
During the battle with the Inhumans in "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2, Alphonse "Mack" McKenzie (Henry Simmons) helped saved the life of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), after which he finally embraced his status as a SHIELD agent.
About Mack, Bell said there is a humor to him and his character that "we weren't aware of when he first showed up because he's this giant, handsome man, and then you realize there's this great, dry sense of humor."
