The Top 2 opens the show with Fall Out Boy. They sing "Centuries." The song does not fall right into Clark Beckham's wheelhouse, though. Nick Fradiani looks like he is really feeling it.
Host Ryan Seacrest comes in and introduces the judges: Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. JLo looks fabulous in her lacy black dress ensemble. The gentlemen look dapper in their slim tie and bow tie. This is the second to the last finale of "American Idol" on FOX.

The Top 6 ladies of "American Idol" 2015 -- Maddie, Adanna, Sarina-Joi, Joey, Tyanna and Jax -- join Nile Rodgers and Chic for a party medley. Everyone's having fun. Urban gets on his feet. His wife, A-list actress Nicole Kidman, is spotted smiling in the audience. JLo sings along and sways on her seat.
The first Top 6 number quickly segues to a superstar performance from Ricky Martin. Five of the Top 6 male contestants -- Qaasim, Quentin, Rayvon, Clark and Nick join him in a sexy and fun medley. (Where is ninth placer Daniel Seavey?)
Janelle Monae sings "Yoga" with Adanna Duru. Adanna is bringing it! The party continues with Prince Royce and Jennifer Lopez. "American Idol" is delivering the star-studded show it promised.
Joey Cook returns to the stage with Echosmith, singing "Cool Kids." Idol judge Keith Urban follows the number with "Even the Stars Fall For You."
Jamie Foxx sets the audience's heart on fire with "In Love By Now." Rayvon Owen holds his own in their duet. A perfect, heartwarming moment to cap the first hour of the show!

Thirty minutes to go. The year's "American Idol" will be announced soon.
Steven Tyler, the night's showstopper, gets intense with the audience. Jax joins him later, ripping "Piece Of My Heart." Steven and Jax take over the panel's desk like no one else could. (Judge Harry Connick Jr. shared the moment via Instagram.) Everyone is stoked and rocking on.
After the number, Jax, who is feeling "fantastic," gets to thank her Idol supporters. She says she didn't have a proper closure the night before, a fact that a lot of Idol viewers did not like at all. Even fans who are not part of the Jax pack are saying the second runner-up deserved a better exit. The audience and the judges cheer Jax on.
The show is getting closer to the confetti time, the finish line. Clark Beckham takes the stage with Michael McDonald. The energy stays on a high!
Nick Fradiani loosens up and delights the audience with Andy Grammer. The show has under 20 minutes left on the clock. Idol host Ryan Seacrest says the judges are coming up the stage after the break.
JLo sizzles and sparkles! So good to hear Keith Urban take on a Bruno Mars song, even for a wee bit. Harry Connick stays mean on the piano, effortlessly dishing the melody.
