ABC is giving Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, 32, a break in Hollywood by giving her the lead role in the new drama "Quantico." The Miss World 2000 winner is set to play an FBI trainee at Quantico Base in Virginia in the new TV series.
"Wow, I'm still reeling," Chopra said on May 11, Monday night, as Access Hollywood quoted her as saying at a party in New York where networks showcased their new programming to advertisers.
According to Chopra, "Quantico" was her first pick out of everything ABC sent her. She said, "I got it, so I was like, 'and it got picked up,' so it all happened so fast. I just hope it's amazing and people love it."
According to the synopsis released by ABC, "Quantico" is about a diverse group of recruits, who are the best, the brightest and the most vetted ones, who are at the FBI Quantico Base for training. It then seems impossible that one of these FBI trainees is suspected of being the mastermind of the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11.
Chopra explained that all of the FBI agents, one of which is her character Alex Weaver, have secret pasts. Something happens in which one of them is blamed and then she has to find out who did it. She added that there is "a lot of drama and all the fun" in "Quantico."
Joining Chopra in the "Quantico" lead cast are "Straight Outta Compton" actor Tate Ellington, "Black Dog, Red Dog" actor Jake McLaughlin, "NCIS: Los Angeles" alum Aunjanue Ellis, "Resident Advisors" star Graham Rogers, "UnReal" star Johanna Braddy, "Crossbones" star Yasmine Al Massri, and "Hemlock Grove" actor Dougray Scott.
