Blasting the expectation of the TV viewers, Bill Cosby dodged all the questions regarding sexual allegations raised against him on ABC's show "Nightline." Hours after the preview shown on "Good Morning America," the comedian was seen rambling when asked about the accusations.
"I can't speak on that," said the 77-year-old star when quizzed about his life after being tainted as sex maniac. "I just don't want to argue. I don't want to talk about."
Cosby appeared on ABC's show to talk about his new philanthropic project, Black Belt Community Foundation, when the show's host, Linsey Davis asked what he will respond if any young person asks him if the allegations are true. The comedian replied that he will ask students to rather focus on his words and sideline who is giving the message.
Unlike the convoluted "Nightline" interview, TV viewers were expecting that Cosby will open up about his past and the sex scandal for the first time.
While talking about his new project, Cosby admitted in the interview that he might face some backlash at the two high schools where he was supposed to preach about the importance of education. However, New York Daily News reported that Cosby's talk went uninterrupted and students supported him wholeheartedly.
Cosby has been accused by more than 30 women in last six months. The allegations raised on the comic star ranged from groping to drugging followed by sexual assault and forceful rape.
Cosby's legal team has always denied these allegations. The comedian is never been criminally charged and is trying to dismiss the three defamation lawsuits filed against him by accusers. To date, Cosby has never spoken openly in reference to the allegations.
Although still unproved, the allegations have surely damaged the reputation and career of the comic icon, who had to let go several projects with major honchos like NBC and Netflix due to the uproar, CNN Money reported. Several of his live shows had to be scraped off, causing huge him financial losses. Watch the excerpts from the interview below:
