Valve has announced the qualifying teams for "Dota 2" The International 5. The Chinese and the American qualifiers will start from May 25 to 28. On the other hand, the European and the South East Asian qualifiers will start be held from May 29 to June 1.
Also, Valve announced the format for this years' "Dota 2" The International 5. There would be four regions and each region will have 10 teams. These 10 teams will be divided into groups of five, according to Segment Next.
During the initial stage of the competition, the round-robin format will be followed. The top teams from each of the two groups will then get the chance to proceed to the second round. The stakes will rise in the second round, as there would be double elimination at this stage, according to Gosu Gamers.
As the stakes are so high so the second round will have a best of three series strategy in order to be fair to all the teams. Eventually the winner of each of the four qualifiers will get a spot at "The International 5," which will be held in Seattle. The runner-ups from all the regions will also get an additional chance to score the wildcard spot.
