"Amazing Spider-Man 3" fans will be devastated to know that Marvel has officially cancelled any previous plans to push through with the third installment. However, this could only mean that the "Spider-Man" reboot is already in the works.
According to Master Herald, the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, already confirmed the news and added that they have already found the actor who could play Peter Parker in the reboot.
Multiple sources then noted that 18-year-old "Hugo" star Asa Butterfield has been tapped for the role. If this were true, Butterfield would play the character of Peter Parker when he was just a 16-year-old boy discovering his superpowers.
Feige also said Marvel wants to chronicle the life of Spider-Man as a teenage boy to bring his story closer to millions of fans across the globe. This attempt guarantees that the story of "Spider-Man" reboot will be closely similar to the stories narrated in various comic books, Venture Capital Post reported.
Meanwhile, now that "Amazing Spider-Man 3" has already been cancelled, fans need not speculate anymore why Marvel ended up with the decision. In the past, there have been reports that the film was cancelled after Andrew Garfield started showing his diva behavior to the producers and directors of the film.
Although this report was never addressed by Garfield himself, it seems that the actor who once played Peter Parker has already moved on from the lost opportunity. He is currently tied up with new projects from other studios that will be released in the next couple of months.
