"Tomorrowland" star George Clooney, 54, who previously claimed children were not a priority for him, caused sensation when a German newspaper quoted him as saying he and his wife Amal Alamuddin, 37, have not ruled the option out.
The German newspaper Bild, as Reuters cited, said the Oscar winner was asked if he and his wife were considering starting a family and he replied, "Yes, but we're taking our time."
In an interview with the CBS Network, Clooney said children had not been "high on his list" of priorities with Alamuddin, who is an English-Lebanese human rights lawyer.
Children have become a question that the Academy Award-winning actor has been asked about frequently with the release of his latest movie "Tomorrowland," which features youngsters as part of the cast.
For the first time since his wedding in Venice, Clooney opened up about his marriage in May when he told "Good Morning America" host George Stephanopoulos that he and his wife were very happy travelling and setting up a house in the United Kingdom.
The Hollywood couple at the time were reportedly travelling between Shanghai and Tokyo. Once considered as the film industry's most eligible bachelor, Clooney wed Alamuddin in a glittering ceremony in Italy in September 2014.
Opening up to the German publication Bild about his aspirations to be a baseball player before his onscreen career got underway, Clooney said he lacked the talent. Also, journalism had been his second option of a career but he did not believe he was not smart enough so he spent time cutting tobacco and working in insurance.
