Legendary comedian, Robin William's family is given more time to resolve their issues over the division of the estate of the late "Mrs. Doubtfire" star. In the latest hearing, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Andrew Cheng told the family to come up with a mutually agreed division plan by July 29.
Recent reports stated that the late actor's wife Susan Schneider Williams and his three adult children from a previous relationships, Zachary Pym Williams, Zelda Rae Willimas and Cody Alan Williams, have been locked in a dispute over his estate, mostly surrounding the fate of a few items. The actor committed suicide in August 2014, leaving a $100m estate and other valuable items for his heirs.
The Oscar-winning actor had reportedly left most of his estate to his three children and passed on the San Francisco home to his widow, Reuters reported. Susan filed legal papers in December 2014, saying that the contents of their home should not be divided among her late husband's children.
The battle over Williams' personal items soon took an ugly turn when the late actor's children claimed that their father's widow is trying to change the trust agreement and snatch away the belongings, which the late comic wanted them to own after his death.
During a hearing in March, the judge has given the family eight weeks to come up with an agreement upon division of the star's roughly 1,200 personal items. About 300 items including actor's slippers, T-shirts and some boxer shorts are still in dispute, BBC reported.
Another important issue that remains to be solved is the amount of money to be given to the late actor's wife so as to maintain the San Francisco home. A second appraisal will be conducted soon to ascertain the value of the property on the basis of which the heirs will contribute to the fund, reserved for the maintenance of the property.
